The auction for a diamond-studded Master Chief helmet has closed, with the one-of-a-kind Halo collectible fetching $34,300. It weights 5kg and has 25,000 Swarovski diamonds, as previously revealed.

However, this was not a for-profit venture on Microsoft’s behalf. All revenues from the one-of-a-kind helmet, which was sold by Xbox Asia, will go to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which grants “wishes” to sick children.

Hsu Chia-Hao, a Taiwanese cosplayer, and Jenny Manik Mercian, an Australian fashion designer who has worked with celebrities such as Beyoncé and Gisele Bündchen, collaborated on the Master Chief helmet.

Halo 5 was released on October 27, 2015, and it made a record-breaking $400 million in sales. It was also the most-played game on Xbox Live during its first week, which Xbox head Phil Spencer is particularly happy of following the problems with Halo: The Master Chief Collection a year before.
